McCain - Lieberman '08... ?

So there's this thing that I've discussed with a select few. Something I've been afraid to formulate in my head; something I've been afraid to consider; something I'm more afraid of than a McCain-Palin ticket.

An excerpt from the previous post

God is apparently on the side of the Republicans (who could have guessed..), judging by McCain's rally at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA and the prayer preceding his .. sermon?

This was the prayer to the gathered:
"O God, we are in a battle that is raging for the soul of this nation," the preacher said. "You, O God, have raised up Senator John McCain and Governor Sarah Palin for such a time as this." The preacher went on: "Help them, O God, to strengthen our economy, to keep our taxes and spending low . . . and grant them the privilege of being elected the next president and vice president."

Clearly, the rest of us are sinners.

New read for all, worth your 5 minutes

Today's must read:
Politics of Attack, from the NYTimes, October 8 2008.

Excerpt:
Ninety minutes of forced cordiality did not erase the dismal ugliness of his campaign in recent weeks, nor did it leave us with much hope that he would not just return to the same dismal ugliness on Wednesday.

Ms. Palin, in particular, revels in the attack. Her campaign rallies have become spectacles of anger and insult. “This is not a man who sees America as you see it and how I see America,” Ms. Palin has taken to saying.
